Is senior placement really free? Here's how we're paid.
Yes. Nonna Placements is free to families. You never pay us, at any stage. Licensed care homes pay us a referral fee, and only after someone we helped moves in.
Yes. You never pay us: not for the first call, the tours or the move. You won't get a bill from us at any point.
When someone we helped moves into a licensed care home we work with, that home pays us a referral fee. Nothing is owed before move-in day.
No. You're free to choose any home, including ones we don't work with. If the right place for your mom or dad is one we have no agreement with, we'll still tell you about it.
We recommend the right home, even when it pays us less. Our business only works if a move sticks, so our goal is the same as yours: the right home the first time. We'll tell you what's wrong with each home we show you, not just what's right. We only suggest homes we've seen ourselves.
We'll help you find another home, at no cost to you.
Medicare doesn't pay for long-term care, including room, board and daily help in assisted living or a board and care home. Standard Medi-Cal doesn't either. California's Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver can help in 15 counties, including Sacramento County but not Placer or El Dorado County, and it has a long waitlist. Ask us whether your county is one of them. Some Medi-Cal health plans may also help pay for the care part of assisted living (not rent), so ask your health plan what it offers.
We don't provide care; licensed homes do. We don't give medical, legal or financial advice. We never hold your money, property or power of attorney. We're not a government agency and not part of Medicare or Medi-Cal.
