Editorial Policy

Roberto Hategan, CEO & Founder of Nonna Placements, writes or reviews every guide and city page. He works with families and tours homes in Placer and Sacramento counties.

We use primary sources first: Medicare.gov for Medicare, and the California Department of Health Care Services for Medi-Cal and the Assisted Living Waiver. We link the sources we rely on.

We don't publish a home's price, openings or care abilities unless the home confirmed them. When we show general cost ranges, we label and date them.

Each guide and city page shows a 'Last updated' date. We review pages when rules or programs change, and at least once a year.
